Practical. Building-specific. Not a box-ticking exercise.
01 — Fire safety law
What the FSO requires of your staff
The legal framework explained in plain English — what the responsible person must do, what staff are required to do, and what happens when obligations are not met.
02 — Fire causes and prevention
How fires start and how to stop them
The ignition triangle, common ignition sources in your specific premises, and the practical prevention measures that reduce the likelihood of a fire starting.
03 — Fire detection and alarm
What the alarm means and what to do
Your specific alarm system, how it activates, what different signals mean, and the immediate action required from staff on hearing the alarm.
04 — Evacuation procedure
Your building's specific escape routes and assembly point
The evacuation procedure for your specific premises — the escape routes, the assembly point, the roll call procedure, and the fire marshal responsibilities for each zone or floor.
05 — Fire extinguisher use
Hands-on practical use on a live fire
Every delegate uses a fire extinguisher on a live fire — the only way to build the confidence and muscle memory that makes the difference when a real fire occurs.
06 — Fire marshal duties
Specific responsibilities for designated marshals
For fire marshal sessions — sweep duties, assembly point management, liaison with the fire service, and the specific responsibilities that designated marshals carry during and after an evacuation.
Manufacturing, a university and a growing visitor economy
Wrexham Industrial Estate is one of the largest in the UK, with food production, advanced manufacturing and distribution sites operating around the clock. Many of these buildings are large, with complex layouts and several assembly points.
The city centre has a university, Wrexham Maelor Hospital and a busy night-time economy, and match days at the Racecourse Ground now bring large numbers of visitors. Hospitality staff need to be ready for those peaks.
Food and manufacturing plants
We cover cooking oil and dust hazards, hot work and how production lines should be made safe before staff leave.
Pubs, bars and match days
We train staff to manage busy rooms, keep exits clear and stop people re-entering once the alarm has sounded.
Student and shared housing
Managing agents and landlords learn how to brief residents and handle false alarms in shared accommodation.
Our sector guides cover offices, schools, care homes, hotels, warehouses and HMOs and shared housing in more detail, and we train in all of these settings in Wrexham.
As well as Wrexham itself, we deliver training in Gresford, Rhosllanerchrugog, Ruabon, Chirk, Coedpoeth, Brymbo and Marchwiel.

"Great training session. Tim explained everything clearly, kept it engaging and made the information interesting and easy to understand. At the end of the session, Tim showed each of us how to use a fire extinguisher to put out a small fire that he safely started in a metal bucket. I have taken all this feedback to the practice i work in and we have now invited Tim to come and train the whole practice. Highly recommend this company."Julie P. · Google Review
How fire safety is enforced in Wrexham
Wrexham is covered by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service. In the year to March 2025 it carried out 320 fire safety audits, and 24.1% required further action: the lowest rate of the three Welsh fire and rescue services.
Inspectors also check that staff know what to do in a fire, and up-to-date training records are the simplest way to show it.
Audit results partly reflect how each service targets its inspections, so they show where enforcement attention falls rather than how safe an area is. Source: StatsWales, year ending March 2025.

Do you train staff on Wrexham Industrial Estate?
Yes. We regularly work with manufacturing and logistics businesses on the estate, and we can run several sessions in one day to cover different shifts.
Does Welsh law change what training is required in Wrexham?
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies in Wales, so the duty to train staff is the same as in England. North Wales Fire and Rescue Service enforces it locally.
How much does fire safety training cost in Wrexham?
Fire Safety Awareness training is £395 per session. Fire Marshal training is £495 per session. Both are delivered on-site at your Wrexham premises, with live fire extinguisher use included. Call 01244 450 990 to discuss session numbers and scheduling.
How many staff can attend each session?
Up to 8 delegates per session, which keeps the training interactive and gives everyone hands-on time with an extinguisher. For larger teams, multiple sessions can be arranged on the same day or across consecutive days. We will advise on the most efficient structure for your team size when you contact us.
Is online fire safety training adequate?
Online training can satisfy the basic awareness requirement for low-risk premises. For most premises, the fire authority expects to see evidence of on-site training that is specific to the building — referencing the actual escape routes, assembly point, and evacuation procedure. An online completion certificate does not provide that evidence. See our article on what fire authority inspectors expect to see.
How often should fire safety training be repeated?
Annual refresher training is appropriate for most premises. New starters should receive induction training before they take up their role. When the building's evacuation procedure changes, all staff should be retrained on the new procedure.
Do you cover other fire safety services in Wrexham?
Yes — alongside fire safety training we offer fire risk assessments, fire door inspections, fire evacuation plans, fire safety policies, and evacuation chair training across Wrexham.
